Beholdance Honors Volunteers with

 Award is a Prestigious National Honor for Volunteer Service

Kannapolis, NC – (July 30, 2009) Beholdance today announced it has awarded 3 youth volunteers and 3 chapters with the President’s Volunteer Service Award, a national honor offered in recognition of volunteer service.

Established in 2003, the Award is available on an annual basis to individuals, groups and families who have met or exceeded requirements for volunteer service and have demonstrated exemplary citizenship through volunteering. As a Certifying Organization, Beholdance confers the award to recognize the outstanding achievements of its volunteers.

Beholdance recognized the following Beholdance members for their dedication and outstanding achievements this year at an awards luncheon being held at Dan Nichols Park in September: 

Individuals

·         DeAnna Butcher – Silver

·         Jaclyn Swartz – Bronze 

·         Zac Swartz – Bronze

Chapters / Groups

·         Beholdance Kannapolis, NC Founding Chapter – Gold

·         Beholdance Asheboro, NC Chapter – Bronze

·         Beholdance Winston Salem, NC Chapter - Bronze
 

Beholdance is celebrating the completion of its second year as a local youth organization with over 3,100 hours contributed to conservation and community service. Outreach has included projects and events with Cabarrus Meals On Wheels, the North Carolina Zoo, the Smile Train, Habitat for Humanity, Empty Bowls, NC DOT Adopt-a-highway, Carolina Raptor Center, City of Concord and global awareness campaigns for Endangered Species and Environmental Education.

“These recipients of the President’s Volunteer Service Award are role models for all Americans,” Dakota Palacio, founder of Beholdance, said. “Each volunteer hour contributed makes a difference in improving the quality of life for others, and I encourage everyone to contribute to our community by volunteering. Volunteers bring us closer together as families, as communities and as a Nation, through their character and commitment. I’m proud of the entire Beholdance group and look forward to growing our mission and welcoming new volunteers.”
