Everyone has an opinion on this but I hope you will take a minute to listen to my view. I'm a teenager in the US and like many others, my family has been hit hard by the issues surrounding gas prices and the economy. My friends and I talk about this too. We're not too young to care or to have ideas. We understand that drilling is not the answer and it only makes gas prices drop, two cents and it will take years to get that. Drilling will also effect too many that are suffering from climate change and other issues and for what, two cents. I don't think that is a solution. I think that is sad. I know our future is in innovation and creative minded young people like me and my friends. We are going to inherit this mess and we do not want this done. We want you to help with incentives for clean energy and eco friendly energy. If we can put a man on the moon, don't tell me we can't solve this for the benefit of all, including the animals, plants and environments this could jeopardize. Just think, we can't get it right on the Mississippi and I don't have faith that accidents such as this will not happen in Alaska or on our coastlines. There were hundreds of spills when Katrina came through so there are things that our current climate creates as larger risks. NOAA has rated our reefs here in the US as "poor" and they can't handle any accidents or challenges such as this could create. I feel like adults are looking at it with dollar figures and money won't feed us but the planet will and always has. Please choose an environmentally friendly way to resolve this. Look at the other countries that are going eco-friendly. It is embarrassing to be a member of a country so wealthy that won't control it's own emissions and set an example for the world. Isn't that what you say American's do. We'll I'm waiting to see this happen. Let's get free of oil and take a look at wind, water, solar and other clean energy. The planet needs it and we need the planet. I respectfully request you say No to lifting the ban on offshore drilling. Say yes to our future with clean energy and a healthy environment for all. We can do it. Have faith, Say no to drugs - in this case 'Oil'. Sincerely,
