I am writing today about the purposal to add the Polar Bears to the Threatened and Endangered Species Act. I read the report that said how their numbers have declined and how they estimate that they could be extinct in Alaska within fifty years. I'm a teenager and that is within my lifetime! I understand currently they have the only supportive habitat for their needs in the US and that the sea ice is melting because of climate change and global warming. I understand they are also at risk because of hunting, pollution and drilling. As a young person and a member of Beholdance, I want to be able to let my children see them in the wild, so I feel time is critical. I urge everyone making the decision to remember extinction is forever. Please don't let that happen to the Polar Bears. It is my hope the bears will be added to the endangered list and be protected by the Endangered Species Act so they will be part of our future. As a leader in the field of conservation, it is my hope that you will represent all life and that includes the bears. I know I am young; however the government is making decisions that my friends and I will face in the future and I want to speak up and let you know that I do want conservation. I want the bears protected and most of all I want those representing me to make every possible decision to protect, conserve and love the home in which we share for the sake of Earth's children, grand children and those that are to come. Respectfully,
